WHAT IS WICA??? 

The Windale Interagency and Community Alliance Inc (WICA) brings together representatives from various government and non-government agencies, members of our local communities and local business owners to work together for the advantage of the residents of Windale, Mt Hutton, Gateshead, Tingira Heights & Gateshead West and act as the peak governing body.

 

Some of the organisations involved include the Departments of Education, Health and Housing; Lake Macquarie City Council; Milabah; PCYC; Eastlakes Community Health; Lake Macquarie Tavern; Aged Care Services; Local MP's Local Businesses & Agencies.

 

WHAT DOES WICA DO??

• Promotes and supports safer and stronger communities.

• Brings together key organisations and individuals to improve the quality of life for the residents our local area.

• Ensures that those organisations and individuals work collaboratively together in the provision of services and resources.

• Shares expertise.

• Involves community residents in the planning and operational aspects of our local area.

• Provides an expert group to advise on services, strategies and programs to assist the residents of our local area.

• Holds various community events and advocates for residents.

• Involves other schools within the area , such as Windale PS & Mount Hutton PS & Lakeside SS & Wiripaang PS Saint Pius PS and Hunter Sports HS.

 

WHAT WICA HAVE ACHIEVED...

• Established a Bi-Monthly News Magazine.

• WICA have engaged with community, local businesses & Government agencies to provide information, feedback as requested.

• Put on our annual Community Christmas Carols · Assisted with the establishment of a community garden at Windale Public School. 

• Worked in partnership with other agencies to hold the Windale Healthy Lifestyles Expo. 

• Run monthly community markets
